Controller - Knapheide Truck Equipment Centers

Job Summary: This position leads the Knapheide Truck Equipment Company (KTEC) finance and accounting team and partners with the operations teams across the company's U.S. based installation and distribution facilities to ensure the integrity and timeliness of the financial results and support all KTEC operations and growth initiatives

Supervises: Position has multiple direct and indirect reports that support the Knapheide Truck Equipment Center entities. The team includes an accounting manager, senior accountant, staff accountants, and accounts payable specialists and is collectively known as the KTEC accounting and finance team

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with the Vice President and CFO to ensure that the KTEC accounting and finance team is supporting and meeting all of the organization's goals and objectives
• Supervise and lead the KTEC accounting and finance team including performance goal setting, providing feedback, coaching, training, and team development
• Support the Vice President of the Knapheide Truck Equipment Company and each location's General Manager by providing business advice, timely and accurate financial reporting, support of projects and growth initiatives
• Oversight of the monthly closing process including analytical review and feedback of the monthly operating results to ensure timely and accurate financial results and the integrity of the general ledger and reporting
• Preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, related footnotes, and prompt follow up to questions regarding the financial results
• Review of operating results with local KTEC management to ensure that issues adversely affecting performance are being addressed and support each site's profit goals and cost control initiatives
• Responsible for KTEC annual budgets. Working with the KTEC operations team on assumptions, review with senior management, monthly reporting, and variance analysis of budget vs. actual results
• Partner with senior management to develop assumptions to produce models to analyze return on investment for new locations and major capital projects, provide financial support for the setup of new locations
• Support acquisition activity of new KTEC locations including financial analysis and activities necessary to successfully close on purchased businesses and support successful integration of the business
• Work with the Knapheide Internal Auditor and outside CPA firm to ensure proper internal controls, segregation of duties, and best practices are implemented and followed across all of the KTEC locations
• Working with the CFO and Controller of Knapheide Manufacturing, lead all KTEC year-end audit activity, while partnering with the outside CPA firm and internal audit to ensure timely and accurate Knapheide consolidated financial results and related reporting
• Oversight of all KTEC tax related matters including all compliance, registrations, reporting, audits, and responding to inquiries from taxing authorities
• Provide support to VP of Information Technology and IT team on successful integration of KTEC locations onto Knapheide's business enterprise system from legacy software platforms

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's of Science in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA is a plus

• Unquestioned integrity and can be trusted to practice discretion
• Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Self-motivated leader, strategic minded with superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team player that has experience motivating and developing others
• Proficient in Excel and in use of report writing tools
• ERP / business system experience including new system implementation
• Process improvement including selection and implementation of new software solutions
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, being onsite at domestic remote locations as needed
