Director of Quality

Position Overview:

Ensure that all Knapheide products and processes meet high quality standards, drive continuous improvement of quality, and maintain quality records. Understand the importance of upholding quality in satisfying customer requirements from new product development to delivery and upfit; take the appropriate actions to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and communicated to the applicable departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develops, manages and improves internal and external quality metrics
• Plan, develop and direct quality policies, programs and initiatives
• Mentors and provides direction, feedback and training for team to grow in a supportive environment
• Develop, implement and revise standards, tools and methods with all direct reports
• Oversight of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation teams
• Oversight of Knapheide Welding Management program
• Evaluates product/process issues as they relate to product quality across Knapheide enterprise
• Collaboratively develops processes that perform effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
• Support the execution and sustainment of the Continuous Improvement process and culture
• Ensure Knapheide ISO procedures, audits and documentation are in compliance

Position Requirements:

Four-year engineering degree. Must have background in Quality Leadership with the ability to gather and analyze statistical data. Collaborating effectively and managing cross-functional groups is a necessity. Must have experience in Manufacturing Engineering. Ideal applicant with possess the ability to organize work and keep records (some computer skills required). Must have strong leadership skills and be willing to accept responsibility. Flexibility in work schedule is a necessity.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking and lifting associated with an office environment. Must be able to verbally communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
