Position Overview:


Under the direction of the Distribution Controller, this position has a primary role in managing and supporting the operating system environment for the Knapheide Truck Equipment (KTEC) locations. Working closely with the CFO and CIO of The Knapheide Manufacturing Company (KMAN) and the KTEC Distribution Controller, this person is a key resource for implementing the KTEC data systems improvement / enhancement strategy.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a primary on/off-site technical support and training resource for FACS
  • Key Activities
  • Add/delete Users
  • Add/delete Printers/Devices
  • Support Trakker applications
  • Provide support for Open VMS functions
  • Que creation and management
  • Batch file creation and processing
  • Directory/sub-directory management
  • User menu management
  • Serves as a primary on/off-site technical support and training resource for TE Quote
  • Key Activities
  • Add/Delete Users
  • Maintain parts master/attributes/labor etc. on each item
  • Create/Maintain models - both fixed and generic
  • Update any labor cost/formulas required
  • Respond to assigned Help Desk ticket requests in a timely manner
  • Monitors month-end closing processes for all KTEC locations to ensure processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • In consultation with store management / personnel, develops and maintains schedules for efficient operation and timely reporting of data through the use of batch file processing techniques, standard report menus and web based reporting applications (TDRS, Report Router)
  • Ensures that application training (FACS, TE Quote, Report Router, etc.) needs are accurately assessed across the entire organization and provided to store personnel in a timely / responsive manner, meeting both organizational and individual user requirements.
  • Provides recommendations on the development and operation of all KTEC computer systems to support strategic and operational goals including preparing Capital Expenditure Request as needed
  • Evaluates usage of existing computer systems, facilities, and applications and is actively engaged in maximizing the capabilities of available IT resources
  • Serve as resource for implementation and support of KTEC web site projects as needed
  • Works with KMAN IT department and other KTEC resources to coordinate the installation of new and upgraded software and hardware systems relating to KTEC data systems as needed
  • Assist in development and implementation of data integration initiatives between KTEC locations and KMAN or other 3rd parties (i.e. Ford, GM, etc.) as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring database integrity through the development of sound and effective IT policies / best practices, including all client and user information and access privileges
  • Plans, recommends, and implements procedures to be followed in the case of emergencies or major breakdown of equipment
  • Work with store management to identify/develop personnel at each site with on-site expertise in key FACS operating modules
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships throughout the organization
  • Serves as a primary systems / training resource during acquisition / development of new stores
