Quality Engineer/Quality Supervisor

Position Overview:

To assure that Knapheide Quality requirements are established, recognized and adhered to assigned products and production. Supervise Quality Technicians assignments and responsibilities across shifts & buildings. Will be required to provide quality/process control measurements, provide analysis of that data and make improvements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversight of Knapheide Quality System day-to-day effectiveness and ensuring ISO9001 compliance.
• Reports on quality related metrics for improvement by investigating trends, utilizing cross functional team for research/review for priority/causation/severity and managing corrective actions as assigned.
• Responsible for Supervision, guidance/development and training of Quality Technicians, including 1on1's, support and OT scheduling, reviews/appraisals, time/attendance, accident investigation & first injury reports.
• Provides tactical level leadership and hands on support of Quality Ticket progression, projects, Capability Studies, PPAP's, FMEA's, Customer First Quality Review assignments, RGA inspections, MRB support, etc.
• Formulating and maintaining quality assurance objectives in order to meet goals.
• Utilizing Quality Tools, Lean and problem-solving techniques for addressing quality concerns.
• Project management for assigned projects including setting up manufacturing trials, validation, testing, etc.
• Responsible for tactical quality system effectiveness and ensuring ISO9001 compliance.
• Leads/participates in product & process-based quality audits by both internal & external sources and reports.
• Promoting quality achievement and support performance improvements throughout the organization.
• Lead technical and Quality support for plant production related activities.
• Oversight of Quality Alerts from QT's, in regards to need, contents, verbiage, format, posting in Doc Library.
• Promotes & maintains a positive department environment through communication with group, consistent application of policies/guidelines and participative management techniques.
• Other responsibilities & duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Four-year degree or equivalent work experience and training (technical degree desirable). Prefer candidate has some supervisory experience. Must have the ability to gather and analyze statistical data. Communicate effectively and managing cross-functional groups is a necessity. Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus. Ideal applicant will possess the ability to direct team technical support duties, organize & assign work and keep records (intermediate computer skills required). Must have strong leadership skills and be willing to accept responsibility as well as changing priorities. Flexibility in work schedule is a necessity. This is a working level engineer/working supervisor position.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking and lifting associated with an office environment. Must be able to verbally communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Some travel will be required.
