Senior Accountant

Knapheide is seeking a highly motivated accounting professional to join our finance and accounting team as our Senior Accountant - Cash, Compliance & Tax based at the company's headquarters in Quincy, IL. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will prepare financial analysis, reports, and summaries for cash, debt, and covenant compliance as well as excise tax, sales and use tax returns and extensions.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism while handling sensitive and confidential data/materials/information
• Cash management, including recording transactions, reporting and forecasting, and processing loan payments
• Support strategy for short-term and long-term investing
• Ensure loan compliance including covenant calculation and reporting, debt schedules, loan and lease renewals, including related intercompany activity
• Prepare and file federal excise tax and sales and use tax returns as well as maintain the sales tax exemption list and federal excise tax exemption list
• Provide tax support to business units including research, issuing exemption certificates, and determining taxability for new items including capital expenditures
• Prepare and file annual reports with states, as well as unclaimed property reports and census reports as needed.
• Work with outside tax accounting firm to file quarterly tax estimates and annual extensions
• Refer notices received from IRS or state tax agencies for proper response
• Perform accounting for LLC and other miscellaneous business units including providing tax estimates
• Perform other accounting duties and projects as assigned

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA and or MBA desired
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
